Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro Review

Xiaomi Poco F1 was formally released following this latest Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro. According to what is known for flagship smartphones, Poco F2 has a lesser price tag even though it offers a flaship specs.

And Xiaomi Poco F2 pro is also very much in resemblance with Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro. When compared, the hardware and specs are just the same thing.

Design and Display

The Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro recalls the style of the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro, which offers users with a Xiaomi smartphone that looks really familiar. The only distinction here is the branding of Poco on the back.

The design on the smartphone includes a Gorilla glass 5 upfront, Gorilla glass 5 at the back and aluminum on the frame.

A circular camera module comprising four cameras is mounted in the back deck. The Poco logo, along with several previews that define the layout, is placed below the camera module and a light flash below the camera.

The Smartphone comes with a display of 6.67 inches Super AMOLED alongside with 1080 x 2400 pixel of screen resolution. And also with 395 PPI of screen density and a refresh rate at 60Hz.

The cameras are just a replica of Redmi K30 Pro. Having similar four rear cameras and the same selfie pop-up camera are fitted with the same sensors and functionalities.

The setup in the back camera includes a 64MP primary, 5MP telephoto / Macro with a 13MP ultra-wide and a 2MP depth camera.

This back camera setup allows us to record 8k video, a feature we saw on leading phones such as the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Video recording is gotten at 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps, 1080p@960fps. The HDR and Panorama mode will capture images.

The selfies are filled with a 20MP self-style pop-up camera that can record 1080p video with 30fps and 720p videos with up to 120fps.

The Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro comes inline following it’s predecessor Poco F1 as was mentioned earlier. It was placed at the same category as the Realme X50 Pro 5G, which is a category that is seen as best flaship category.

The success for the Poco telephone is that it provides a smartphone at a price lower than $1000 with the same features with other flagship phones, which for years now they have been on that level of price and is now turning out to be their normal price.

The processor of Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and Adreno 650 graphics processing unit, is located under the hood of the Poco F2 Pro.

Selfies are manned by a 20MP pop-up selfie camera, which is capable of 1080p video recording at 30fps and 720p videos up to 120fps.

The 6 GB LPDDR4X and 8 GB L PDDR5 RAM options are available on this Android smartphone. You will also be able to store upto 128 GB or 256 GB data. Please keep in mind that this smartphone does not support storage expansion via Micro-SD.

The MIUI 11 user interface runs on the Android 10.0 operating system on the software part.

Connectivity and Network

A USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack is available in Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro. It also has NFC, Bluetooth 5.1 and Wifi with two bands.

Thanks to its 5G network, users with 5G installed and working in their area will be able to upload and download video at 5G speeds.

Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro Price and Release

For the 6GB x 128GB model, the price of Poco F2 Pro begins at $542. The price in Nigeria is 211,380 Naira, 3,121.92 Ghanian Cedi and 57,853 Kenyan shillings.

For 8GB/256 GB model the price is at $650, approximately 253,500 Naira, 3,744 Ghanian Cedi and 69,381 Kenya.

The Poco F2 Pro is scheduled for sale on 19 May 2020, as announced on 12 May 2020. They are available in Neon Blue, Electric Purple, Cyber Gray and Phantom White.
