Apple iOS 14 was announced at WWDC20 in June, and it was made ready for purchase on September 17 2020. Its launch is peculiar because it did not go live side by side with new iPhones as is usually the case. The new iPhone models for 2020 will probably see their premiere pushed up to October.
Of recent, the new v.14 expands the OS with additional two options that hold the potential to radically change the way you interact with the OS. With emphasis on the homescreen widgets and the app drawer – two staples of Android.
The App Library don’t disappoint – with a conventional app drawer, and it has automatic app sorting. And we all know this is the place apps come to die.
More additions are integrated Translate app compatible with Siri, pinned messages, better Maps, Picture-in-Picture mode, new privacy and accessibility features, and a few minor but important UI changes that may be coming a bit too late but we’ll welcomed.
The new iOS 14 also offers App Clips – this allowing you the functionality of an app you don’t have installed within a small pop-up window. The phone carries out a quick download from the store of the said app function, you use that function, and then you discard it away.
Apple adds over 250 new features in iOS 14 – you can find the complete list on their website. As part of this review, we’ll explore the new iOS maturity that comes from both new and legacy features, and how it may change your iPhone experience.
New feature highlights:
Homescreen (stackable) widgets
App Library
App clips
Picture-in-Picture support
Compact Phone and Siri UI
Change the default browser and email app
Tap on the back shortcuts
Pinned messages and emoji search
New Translate app
New privacy options, mic/cam indicators, approximate/precise location
YouTube 4K support
Sleep mode
Room for improvement
Ability to change some of the other defaut apps like Maps or even Camera
File management
Media upload
The file management is intuitive and easy for some, and a nightmare for others. We can understand why Apple does what it does with files, but we still feel it can be done better for a broader audience.
The Tecno Camon 16 succeeded the previous Tecno Camon 15. It is as well an adequate option in terms of price for enthusiasts whose budget is under that of the former released Tecno Camon 16 Premier. Display, processor, RAM, storage, and lots more are the features that contributed to the less in price of this latest device.
We can clearly see Tecno applying a rear-mounted fingerprint to the rear panel instead of the side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the Camon 16 Premier.
On the rear panel, the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor is practically the only difference. The squared-off camera module that houses four cameras and an LED flash has been retained by Tecno. You can also see the Tecno brand, which means that it is a smartphone from Tecno.
Moving up to the front, on the Camon 16 premiere, we find a 6.8-inch screen that is smaller than the 6.9-inch screen.
The Tecno Camon 16 settles on the monitor with a resolution of 720 x 1640 as we saw on the 16 Premier. In comparison, the cutting of the camera was simplified to a punch hole that holds one camera only.
Many who plan to buy this smartphone will be given three different choices of colors, including Purist Blue, Misty Gray and Cloud White.
Camon 16 Cameras
When switching from the TCamon 16 premiere to Camon 16 a decrease in pixels can be observed. In both the back and the front panels, this is clear.
In contrast to the 48MP Selfie Camera on the Camon 16 premier, the first 16MP camera is designed to make up a dual front camera setup with an 8MP ultra large camera.
On the back, there is a quad-family setup consisting of a main 64MP sensor, a 2MP sensor depth sensing, a Macro 2MP and an AI lens. This data indicates the absence of the 8MP camera we had on the premiere of the Camon 16.
On the specs side, we get a set of confrontations, compromises that start with the processor, which drops from MediaTek Helio G90 T on the first Camon 16 to MediaTek Helio G70 on the Camon 16, which was also the processor that we saw on Tecno Spark 6.
In contrast to the 8 GB RAM/128 GB configuration on the Camon 16 premier, there are other output facilitators including 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storing. We still have a higher battery capacity of 5000mAh, higher in its luxury sibling than the battery of 4500mAh.
We have Tecno’s 7.0 UI installed on the Android 10 operating system on the software side.
Connectivity
A micro-USB port, a head-jack of 3.5 mm, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi are supported in the Tecno Camon 16.
There is a 4G access to the Internet that means that the luxury 5 G speeds are not accessed by enthusiasts.
Distribution and Price of Tecno Camon 16
At the time this article was published, the price of the Tecno Camon 16 was not known but this article will be updates as soon as it is available.
The Tecno Camon 16, scheduled for purchase from 16th October 2020, though was revealed on 10th October 2020.
